Suicide Six

Overview:

Suicide Six is located near Woodstock, Vermont and is a small ski resort in the winter with an elevation of 650 feet. Last season the resort opened up a lift access bike park with about five trails, however due to Covid-19 the lifts have not been running this year. It’s unclear if they will run during the summer again, or if they’ll add previously planned trails. The trails they do have are for the most part flowy with some occasional features.

Pros:

The best thing I noticed about Suicide Six are the berms. You can put all your speed and trust into them and have an absolute blast! You’ll find tons of sweet berms on Avery’s Interstate, but if your looking for a bit more of a challenge then check out Ask Your Father. This trail has some loamy chutes and switchbacks, and also some cool woodwork like an on and off wooden lilli pad, and a steep wood roll down. Another great thing about this place is the green trail. It’s great for beginners, but I also spotted some sweet doubles for faster riders. It also makes a great climb trail to the top since the grade is mellow.

Cons:

I’d have to say Suicide Six is still in phase one of being a bike park. You won’t find any mega jump lines (although I think they were planning to add one) or any real tech trails. This place is good for only one type of trail: flowy and loamy. Also, there aren’t a lot of trails here, obviously, and it seems like they won’t receive a lot of visitors with Killington bike park just down the road.

Rating: 7.5 Bike Park Scale: 4.75

As you can see, I rated Suicide Six two different ways since I’m not sure whether or not I’d categorize this place as a bike part with the whole chairlift situation. As a normal trail, Suicide Six is far above average and it’s clear that much thought went into designing these trails, despite the lack of variety. When compared to bike parks like Mountain Creek, Killington, and Highland it’s definitely below average, mostly because it’s fairly new. If the chairlift reopens, I think we’ll see many more well-crafted trails start to appear here, and with luck there will be more variety. I’m curious to see what the future holds for Suicide Six!
