Lynn Woods

Overview:

Lynn Woods is just north of Boston, and is the land of rock slabs! Although you won’t find much variety here, you will find plenty of sketchy rolls that seem to be packed into one area. There are also a few chunky descents, crazy gap jumps, and parts of the trail that look unrideable (they are rideable, if you’re a pro trials rider).

Pros:

I’d probably have to say that my favorite MTB features are rock slabs, so I felt right at home at Lynn Woods. Even though there were plenty of spots that got the better of me, it was always worth the struggle to get to the next rock roll. In my opinion, the closest thing Lynn Woods compares to are the massive slick rock sections you’ll find in Moab, only this place is way more challenging. My personal favorite trail is called Chicken Soup which was just mellow enough for me to clean, but if you’re a pro then definitely check out Surf City to test you’re limits and trials skills.

Cons:

This is definitely not beginner friendly and if you’re new to the sport, don’t make the mistake of coming here. One thing that’s also not so great about this place is that there isn’t much sustained downhill, and you’d better be ready to put in you’re blood sweat and tears if you want to ride those sweet rock slabs.

Rating: 7.5/10

I personally think Lynn Woods is the best place to ride in Massachusetts, and that’s saying a lot since I usually only ride downhill. While it is only for some people, its still a wicked fun time.
