The Dump Run (Somewhere in New Hampshire)

Overview:

Unfortunately I can’t give the location on this one, but I can tell you it’s right next to a dump. After seeing a video, I knew I wanted to hit this spot on a short riding trip to the granite state. I put in a few days of research and found exactly what I was looking for! Anyways, although the dump run is just one trail (it’s only around 1.3 miles long which is still quite long for east coast standards), it has a ton of variety. It starts off with sketchy rock slabs at the summit, then goes into janky rock features which proved to be quite challenging in the wet, followed by some pedal sections that were filled with wet roots and loam, and finally tons of sweet jumps! If you’re willing to put in the time to find the location of this trail, it’s totally worth it!

Pros:

As stated before, there was tons of variety and I think the lower section could also be enjoyed by some beginners if they avoided the jumps. Due to my love of rock slabs, the upper section was a dream come true and had a very cool open feeling, combined with a few sketchy moves, plus other slabs that had super flowy run outs!

Here’s a video

Cons:

With all these trails there’s always the legal factor which really is pretty unfortunate. Also, there’s only one trail so it makes a good early morning/afternoon ride but not enough for a full day.

Rating: 8.25/10

Despite riding in so many destinations across the world, this has got to be one of my top 10 favorite trails. There were some things I didn’t enjoy about the ride like how my shocks didn’t have enough air, my break levers weren’t set up properly, and there were tons of wet roots to slide out on, if I came back here on a dry day with my mechanics all sorted out, I would have had an even better ride than what I did which is pretty hard to beat. So definitely check this place out and do your research!
