Burke Mountain Bike Park

Overview:

Burke Mountain Bike Park is right next to the Kingdom Trails in East Burke, VT (I told you it was an MTB mecca!). While the lift only runs halfway to the top of the mountain, you can pay extra for a shuttle ride to the very top where you’ll have a long descent ahead of you.

Pros:

The one thing that Burke is very famous for are the jumplines. Warm up on Jester, which is packed with optional advanced features, then hit Merlin which is only made out of dirt and super smooth, and finally send it down Knightslayer which has the same character as Jester, only bigger. But jumplines aren’t Burke’s only specialty! They also have a few loamy runs like Black and Enchanted Forest, plus the shuttle will take you to some super gnarly terrain including a pro line that is nothing like the flowy goodness of the neighboring Kingdom Trails!

Cons:

The only thing I disliked about Burke was that the shuttle trails at the top always seemed to be wet. While this does add a fun new level of challenges, on some sections that had angled rocks it was outright dangerous. However I’m not sure the trail crew can do anything about this, and other than that there isn’'t much else to complain about.

Rating (Bike Park Scale): 7.5

Burke is such a sick place and I can’t recommend it enough. The only reason why it didn’t share the same score as Killington is because there aren’t enough of those world class trails and I’m craving more!
